Proud Cut Saloon, 1227 Sheridan Avenue – Confusing for a lot of people not from the region, the name of the restaurant is a reference to the popular Rocky Mountain Oysters it serves. If you don’t have the nerve to try them, there are plenty of other options.
Cowtown Candy Company, 1323 Sheridan Avenue – Known for its addictive Cody Crunch, which is white chocolate-covered popcorn. You won’t want to miss it.
The Chamberlin Inn, 1032 12th Street – Ernest Hemingway slept here, and he might not have left if he had tried a signature cocktail such as Dewey’s Old Fashion or the Papa-inspired Death in the Afternoon.
The Irma Hotel, 1192 Sheridan Avenue – Buffalo Bill’s Original Hotel in the Rockies is famous for its prime rib, but the bread pudding with whiskey sauce is what draws many in.
Trailhead, 1326 Beck Avenue – It’s a great story. Local boy leaves town to go to culinary school and work in big-city restaurants. Returns home to open his own place. Try the Fungi Pizza.
Zapata’s, 1362 Sheridan Avenue – For close to 30 years, Connie has been serving her salsa. Try it. It’s fresh, homemade, and just as popular with the takeout and delivery crowd.
