On the corner of 15th Street and Thomes Avenue in Cheyenne’s West Edge, in a historic brick building is one of the most popular cocktail bars in the city – Chronicles Distilling.
Run by brothers Chase and Aaron Lesher, Chronicles takes small batch distilling to a new level, using a small, urban space to its fullest potential. Everything in the place, from the furniture to the distilling setup, was all built by the two brothers. Using creativity, hard work and a “that looks like fun” mentality, Chase and Aaron pour a unique energy into Chronicles Distilling that shows up in their equally unique spirits. In their typical self-deprecating humor, the brothers tell their story as a “series of mishaps,” starting out helping friends with distilling and then deciding it looked like fun to do themselves.
That whole notion of doing something because it’s fun is reflected in everything they do. Tart Lemon Vodka and Berry and Barb (strawberry rhubarb) Whiskey are perfect examples of their unique distilling efforts. Next time you visit Cheyenne, drop in, take a seat and share some stories – if it looks like fun, it’s probably because it is!
